Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand aims to disrupt the intergenerational cycle of disadvantage for women and girls by creating an emotionally, economically and physically safe world for women. GSANZ has three service areas: educational pathways, financial security and safety and resilience. In Victoria, we work across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula with offices in Abbotsford, Collingwood, St Albans, Mornington and Hastings.

<div> Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand (Formerly Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service<br /><br />Our programs and services in Victoria<br /><br /><strong>Safety and resilience</strong><br /><br />Peninsula Family Violence Program<br />Family violence support, including safe refuges, phone and face-to-face counselling, support and referral, case management, outreach and group work for women and their children.<br /><br />Firmer Foundations</div><div>Early intervention service for women at risk of family violence, with a focus on increasing women’s financial skills and capabilities.<br /><br />Family Services West and Family Services Peninsula<br />GSANZ participates in service partnerships for Child FIRST assessment and referral for families with children at risk; and provides family support through one to one, case management and group work for families who experience difficulties that affect their children’s safety, stability and development.<br /><br />St Albans Community House<br />Provides a safe and supportive environment for people of all cultures, with a strong focus on newly arrived women to engage with community, learn skills and develop pathways for safety and self-reliance. <br /><br />Good Shepherd Community House @ Wallaroo<br />Provides a safe and supportive environment for people to engage with community, learn skills and develop pathways for safety and self-reliance. This site has a strong focus on parent engagement with children’s early learning. <br /><br />African Women’s Group<br />Supports newly arrived African women at risk of isolation and other hardships in Brimbank.<br /><br />Vietnamese Women’s Group<br />Supports engagement, parenting and skills development for Vietnamese women in Brimbank <br /><br />Step Out</div><div>Supports vulnerable young parents with preschool aged children.<br /><br />Youth Housing Support<br />Case management support for young people aged 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of being homeless.<br /><br />Yarra Community Friends<br />Matches disadvantaged young people and children in the City of Yarra with compassionate responsible adult mentors for support, community engagement and family respite. <br /><br />Support and Assistance for Young People<br />Supports young people at risk from disengaging from school and their community and to stay safely at home with family.<br /><br /><strong>Educational Pathways</strong><br /><br />Wallaroo Preschool<br />Early learning kindergarten program for three- and four-year-olds from the local community in Hastings that has strong links to parent engagement and support.<br /><br />ENGAGE!<br />Program for newly arrived young people and disadvantaged young people in Brimbank that aims to build confidence, skills, knowledge and links to education, to thrive in their community.<br /><br />School Focused Youth Service<br />A partnership that supports and links local programs and systems for at-risk children and young people to engage or re-engage with<br />education. </div><div><br />L2P <br />Learner driver mentoring program that supports young people to obtain their driver’s license.<br /><br /><strong>Financial Security</strong></div><div><br />Financial Counselling<br />Financial information, advocacy and referral for people experiencing financial stress and/or vulnerability. <br /><br />No Interest Loans (NILS)<br />In partnership with GSM, no interest loans for eligible people to purchase household goods, health aid or educational costs.<br /><br />NILS Pathway loans</div><div>Specialist no interest loans for women to rebuild their lives after leaving prison or family violence.<br /><br />StepUp</div><div>Low interest loans to eligible people to repair cars, obtain medical and dental care, engage in vocational training or pay for house<br />repairs.</div>
