On 21 July 2014 Victorian Council of Social Services launched the ‘Cover theCosts’ campaign website -This website has been developed to raise public awareness of the Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) changes, to encourage advocacy at a local level in the lead up to the state election and to highlight the pressing need for a genuine replacement to the EMA for many of Victoria’s most vulnerable families.
 By this stage the AIDS 2014 International Conference is well underway here in Melbourne.
As a lead-in to this world conference Caritas Internationalis and CHAN (Catholic HIV & AIDS Network), collaborating with Caritas Australia and St Vincent’s Health Australia convened a pre-conference for participants in the international conference and other local participants interested in the Catholic Church response to HIV and AIDS

All members of Catholic Social Services Victoria are invited by Caritas Australia and their affiliates to gather with others engaged in the international Catholic response to HIV and AIDS in a pre-conference in Melbourne as a lead-in to the 20th International AIDS Conference from 20-25 July 2014.

The pre-conference entitled Stepping Up the Pace: Remember the Loaves and Fishes will be held from Friday 18 July (evening) to Sunday 20 July at Catholic Leadership Centre East Melbourne. For details of the program and registration (free) click here.
