Domestic Violence
Assisting parishes to respond to family violence

Family and domestic violence is a critical issue in Australia. We all have a role to play in preventing, and/or responding to incidents of violence. A parish resource kit was distributed to all Victorian parishes to assist in this work. It's vital that parish staff, clergy and parishioners be informed and do what they can in this important area of work.
To build on this work, on Wednesday 25 July, from 1.30pm - 4.00pm, Sr Nicole Rotaru rsm will lead a workshop for parishes at the Cardinal Knox Centre, East Melbourne.  This workshop will help participants respond to people who have been affected, and to assist them in rebuilding their lives.  Nicole has worked with women and children in many settings to build understanding of family violence, particularly as it affects children and their mothers.
Please help us spread the word to ensure as many parishioners and parish staff can attend.
