St Mary's delivers welcome relief at Christmas
This year St Mary’s House of Welcome (SMHOW) in Fitzroy is working to ensure Christmas is as merry for our homeless community by providing festive meals and in the delivery of Christmas hampers. Volunteers are working pack up to 750 hampers over the next few weeks, said Robina Bradley, CEO of SMHOW.
“Some exciting news about a project we have been working on behind the scenes that I can finally share with you all," she said. "St Mary’s House of Welcome has been chosen to be featured by the City of Melbourne in their Christmas giving campaign. We are calling the campaign Welcome Relief @ Christmas.”
“We are encouraging Melburnians to donate $55 (or more) in order to help us to distribute hampers to those who usually receive a Welcome Relief meal pack, including those in hotel accommodation. The target is 750 hampers.”
