Young Vincentians sharing hope and charity
July 4 was International Young Vincentians Day, which saw the Vinnies Community, particularly the younger members, celebrating the theme, 'Young Vincentians sharing hope and charity'.
As Arnhie, President of Casey Young Vinnies explained, "Young volunteers are an integral part of Vinnies. After all, St Vincent de Paul was started by Fredrick Ozanam, who was just a 20-year old university student in 1800s Paris, along with 6 of his best friends!"
Vinnies State Youth Representative, Nicole, also shared some wonderful thoughts on the day: “Reflecting on this day highlights the love, dedication, courage and compassion found within so many of you who express a deep devotion and commitment to Vinnies in Victoria.
"Without you, many of the services we provide would not be able to continue. Your resilience during this pandemic has been phenomenal, especially navigating through restrictions and new protocols. Your remarkable spirits and open hearts are greatly appreciated not only by Vinnies, but by the many people who you graciously assist.
"So today, we celebrate the presence of Vinnies Youth in Victoria and around the world. Let us raise our voices with boldness and joy as we continue the mission entrusted to us by Frederic Ozanam!”
