Human Trafficking Report from Talitha Kum General Assembly, Rome

Representatives from our member organisation, ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans), attended the international Talitha Kum General Assembly in Rome in September. They were part of a gathering of 86 people, almost all Catholic sisters, from 42 countries, all working to counter human trafficking.

The teams from Oceania, (Australia and New Zealand - ANZRATH), joined with groups from Africa, North America, South America, the Middle East, East Asia, South Asia and South-east Asia. Each working group during the week in Rome spoke together in the one language; they were enabled to communicate by the provision of simultaneous interpreting in English, Spanish and French. Country exhibitions provided a vivid picture of the scope of the work being done.
