Walking on the Land with Catholic Social Teaching Workshop - 29 Aug 2019
Following a guided reflective walk down from the ridge to the Yarra River flats the participants gathered for follow up activities and sharing in Barak House on the Amberley property.
The workshop continues to provide a valued experiential exploration of the key principle of Catholic Social Teaching within the framework of Pope Francis’ Laudato Si (2015). It is a rich and valuable introduction to “Integral Ecology” which highlights the interdependence of all creation. It embraces the vast network of relationships between all that is. Integral ecology “requires an integrated approach to combatting poverty, restoring dignity to the excluded, and at the same time protecting nature.” (LS 139).
This workshop was greatly appreciated by the participants who commented in the following ways: “Many thanks for an uplifting, inspiring , hope-filled day of encouragement.”….. Valued being “involved in different modes of interaction.”…..Another was happy “being active in the process, doing things rather than being talked at.”……A number commented on the quiet and respectful pace of the day.
There is one more opportunity for a Walking on the Land with Catholic Social Teaching workshop on Thursday 28 November 2019 at St Joseph’s By The Sea Spirituality Centre, Williamstown. Here’s the link
for registration for that event.
