Homelessness: Preparing for 2020, Parish Forum, Tuesday 24 September

Each Winter, on any night across Victoria around 1,100 homeless people including women, children, young and older people and people with disabilities have to “sleep rough” in city parks, car parks, bushland areas and coastal reserves. What can we and our parishes do to help rough sleepers? While it is not a solution to the problem of homelessness, the Winter Shelter program helps many rough sleepers find a warm bed during the coldest time of the year.

During 2019 Catholic parishes have joined with other churches and groups to provide support this way. Our upcoming parish forum, 'Homelessness: Preparing for 2020' on Tuesday 24 September 2019 will bring together people to begin to prepare for next Winter, and to make the connections with other parishes, churches and groups that will make next year’s Winter Shelter a success in as many areas as can be reached.

Location: Cathedral Room Cardinal Knox Centre, 383 Albert Street, East Melbourne (entry around th corner via carpark off Landsdowne Street).
Time: 6pm for 6.30pm-8.30pm
Download Flyer.  The program will be published here, shortly.
