Welcome to our newest members, serving the vulnerable in their communities

Catholic Social Services Victoria warmly welcomes its newest members - JoCare in Malvern, Joseph's Corner Inc in Melbourne's west and House of Welcome Ballarat.

JoCare

JoCare is a free service supported by St Joseph's parish in Malvern and Cabrini Health. It aims to encourage friendship and support within neighbouroods in the local Malvern area. A focus of the program is to engage with socially isolated individuals; being involved in local activities is vital for personal and communal well-being.

JoCare offers the opportunity for volunteers to provide non-professional acts of service to people living independently in the local Malvern area. These might include visiting for a chat, sharing a book together, going for a walk, having a cuppa, or teaching/learning a new skill. Residents in the Malvern area are welcome as volunteers or as recipients of the services offered by JoCare.

JoCare Monthly Social Gathering: On the first Tuesday of each month at St Joseph's Parish Hall, 27 Stanhope Street, Malvern, 10am-12pm. Drop in for a cuppa and chat and connect with those in the local area.
Call (03) 8508 7207 or email JoCare.

Joseph's Corner Inc

Joseph's Corner is a not-for-profit charitable organisation established in response to the community's need for free counseling and support for families and friends of those living with alcohol or drug addiction. Its head office is in Yarraville, with counseling sites at Yarraville, Hoppers Crossing and Laverton, as well as the 'Merrijig' opportunity shop, which helps raise money for the services provided.

Joseph's Corner relies totally on donations to run its counseling services, which provide support for families in stress and crisis, particularly those impacted by the harmful effects of drug and alcohol use. It also offers networking and referral services, group support sessions and companionship.

Appointments can be made by calling (03) 9315 2680.

House of Welcome Ballarat
House of Welcome Ballarat is located at 30 Waller Avenue, Ballarat. It aims to provide support to refugees and asylum seekers in the Ballarat region. It's website is still in development, but if you'd like to get in touch, email Carmel.

Catholic Social Services Victoria looks forward to working with, and journeying alongside these organisations in serving the most vulnerable in our local communities.
