It’s only good design if it’s where you want to live
How can VMCH
improve design and delivery of accommodation, with and without support, for people with disability, to meet the expectations of clients and residents? This is the question VMCH will take to the community as they explore whether people in the Ivanhoe area are in need of additional specialist accommodation.
Kristy Simmonds, Manager Accommodation at VMCH says its important to find out what people want before starting a new project. “VMCH are committed to building specialist disability accommodation so people can take the next step in living independently. But it’s important we talk to be people about what they want and need so we are filling a gap. Not just delivering bricks and mortar where it may not be wanted.”
Two community consultations will be held in Macleod to discuss local views of accommodation with and without support, for people with disability and what’s currently on the market.
VMCH will present some of their current projects and ask for your feedback on what future projects might look like.
VMCH will be holding two community consultation sessions:
• Tuesday 28th May at 6.30pm (light refreshments)
• Wednesday 29th May at 10.30am (light lunch)
Where: Nets Stadium (Ground floor) 2 Somers Avenue, Macleod.
