Paws 4 Kids - special fundraiser to help children transform their lives
Ash Wednesday, 6 March
MacKillop Family Services
is running a special fundraiser where any donation made on the day will have 4 x the impact!
aims to raise $200,000 to introduce 500 young people to dogs that are trained to support young people who have experienced trauma.
Generous matchers are multiplying monetary gifts received on 6 March by 4 to help MacKillop reach its goal of $200,000. That means a $100 gift becomes $400 – which is enough to give one more child access to canine-assisted learning support.
For some children, school isn’t always an easy place to be. Many find it hard because beyond the school gate they’re dealing with some tough issues: family violence, neglect, living out of home or social and emotional challenges.
Staff at MacKillop know the program works. They’ve seen it change lives. Lives like Laura’s, who says: “I used to be so quiet and in a shell, and I never used to come out. But knowing that Millie [the dog] can come with me and that I’ll have that support with me — it’s made me feel like I can do anything.”
Whether you give $25, which our matchers will turn into $100; or $2500, which becomes $10,000 — you can give 4 x the hope to Australian children who are struggling to reach their potential
You may not be able to teach an old dog new tricks, but you can teach children new ways to learn.
The official launch is 21 February 2019, however, donations can be made here before this date, and then on 6 March, any donation is quadrupled!
