Book Launch, ‘Faith and the Political in the Post-secular Age' - 19 June 2018
You are warmly invited to the launch of ‘Faith and the Political in the Post-secular Age’ on Tuesday 18 June at Catholic Theological College, 278 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne, at 5.30pm.
Written by leading scholars, this ecumenical collection of essays challenges widespread public scepticism, offering an optimistic account of the human person. It challenges the current polarising rise of aggressive atheism and closed-truth religions and economic fundamentalisms.
Appealing to those of faith and none, the authors present a hope in God that is built on a pragmatic foundation of moral, social, political and economic action. In so doing, they challenge contemporary cultural ideas of individualism and division, and provide an inspirational Gospel vision of hope for human solidarity.
