Council at Catholic Social Services Victoria refreshed at Annual General Meeting
our Annual General Meeting on 30 April 2018, three Council vacancies were
filled for the next two years: Jenny Glare, General Manager, Heritage and Information, at MacKillop
Family Services and Dr Anne Astin, formerly Chair of the Board at Wellsprings
for Women, were re-elected for another two years as Council members at Catholic
Social Services Victoria, and Netty Horton, Chief Executive Officer of
CatholicCare Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Gippsland was elected for her first
Jenny, Anne and Netty join our
full Council, which includes elected members, and some nominated by the
Dioceses of Victoria and by Catholic Religious Victoria.
As the 2017 Annual Report, which was tabled at the AGM, pointed out, Council is
currently focused on the key strategic
priorities that are at the heart of its 2017 – 2019 Strategic Plan, namely:
- Better outcomes for people who are disadvantaged
- A resilient Catholic Social Services sector that
responds effectively to its changing environment
- Catholic Social Teaching making a difference
- Prevent and respond to child sexual abuse within
the Catholic Church and organisations.
- Effective communication and engagement with
Church and community
This strategy is guided by the Council, powered by
member involvement and supported by a hard-working staff.
