ACRATH: 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence from 25 November-10 December 2017

ACRATH has developed resources to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence from November 25th – December 10th 2017.
The campaign calls us to work together to stop the trafficking of girls and women, which is an extreme form of violence. Many young women face forced marriage or forced labour in hazardous conditions with no chance of an education and no chance to escape from a cycle of poverty.

Our resources will give you a focus and provide information on many campaigns issues.

Some of the resources on the website that you might want to print off and use, include:

• A reflection sheet marking each of the 16 days of the campaign. You can light a candle each day and remember one woman.
• A parish notice to alert people to the campaign. This can also be used in work and school news bulletins.
• A two-page anti-trafficking reflection service.
• A snapshot of modern day slavery, especially in Australia.
• Actions to improve supply chains of products produced around the world.

As well, we encourage you to look at, and take part in, the OXFAM campaign for a fair wage for garment workers.
