Pope Francis has published his long-awaited encyclical Laudato Si (Praised Be To You) on our relationship with the whole of creation. The encyclical places the care of creation, our “common home”, at the heart of Christian theology. He calls on our fragile world to leave behind the myth of unlimited material progress and proposes instead a “sense of fraternity that excludes nothing and no one” and an understanding of the Earth as a “shared inheritance”.
Seventy four people from 22 parishes, including two parishioners from Sandhurst Diocese together with several agency representatives attended the Forum at Cardinal Knox Centre, East Melbourne on 18 June 2015.  Despite the cold weather, the evening was a great success, with participants keen to consider how they might assist asylum seekers in our community.
